De afgelopen weken waren heel erg moeilijk. Voor ons als omstanders, en helemaal voor "Abraham en Sara". Niemand snapte waarom er nu niets gebeurde, en hoe moeilijk als je er middenin zit en geen uitkomst ziet.
Er kwamen 3 (!) makelaars naar het huis kijken. Dat was vreemd, omdat de huisbaas had laten weten dat er al een aantal potentiele kopers zaten te wachten.
Het blijft een hele moeilijke situatie: niemand weet wat er gaat gebeuren, je kunt niets plannen, en een ander huis zoeken is ook heel moeilijk, omdat de huren zo ontzettend omhoog zijn gegaan. En waar moeten ze gaan wonen? Je vindt nooit meer zo' "perfect" huis als dit.
En toen belde de huisbaas opeens op met de mededeling dat hij het huurcontract wil VERLENGEN tot maart 2008, om de 5 jaar vol te maken.
Over wonderen gesproken!. Misschien ook een hartsverandering van de huisbaas?
We weten het niet, maar de Beit Avraham staf is natuurlijk heel erg dankbaar voor deze adempauze.
Wilt u a.u.b. blijven doorbidden voor Gods leiding en wijsheid en dat andere wonder: dat iemand het huis wil kopen voor de Beit Avraham. "Abraham" en zijn familie hebben uw voorbede heel hard nodig. Bidt dat God hen de emotionele kracht wil geven om "vast te houden".

Breathing Space!
It has been a very touch time since the last update!
For us as bystanders, it was hard to understand why nothing is happening. You can imagine how double tough it was for "Abraham" and "Sarah", as they are the ones in the thick of it all.
3 (!) real estates came to look at the house. This was strange in light of the landlord's remarks that he had already buyers "waiting in the wing".
The whole situation of not knowing what will happen, the impossibility to plan anything, the fact that looking for another house is such a daunting project, due to the very high rents and the big question: where to look? They'll never find such a "perfect" place like this.
And then suddenly the landlord called with the news that he wanted to EXTEND the contract till March 2008, to make the 5 years full.
Speaking about miracles! A change of heart? We don't know, but the Beit Avraham staff is very grateful for this breathing space.
Please, will you continue to pray with us for God's guidance and wisdom and the other miracle: someone willing to buy the house for the Beit Avraham. Especially pray for Avraham and his family - that God will give them the emotional strength to "hold on".

Houd goede moed!
Hoop. Dat is het enigste wat "Avraham" en "Sarah" op de been houdt.
Er is "niets" gebeurd, het huis is op de markt, het huurkontrakt verlopen, en geen duidelijkheid wat er nu verder gaat gebeuren.
Onze vrienden en hun gezin hebben uw gebeden nu extra hard nodig.
In de tussentijd blijven ze "zitten waar ze zitten" en bidden om wijsheid en Gods leiding.
Hun ziel verwacht de HERE, Hij is hun hulp en hun schild, ja, in Hem verheugt zich hun hart, ja, op zijn heilige naam vertrouwen zij. Uw goedertierenheid, HERE, zij over hen, gelijk zij op U hopen. (vrij naar Psalm 33:20-22).

They wait in hope for the LORD; He is their help and their shiled, in Him their hearts rejoice, for they trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon them, o LORD, even as they put their hope in you. (from Psalm 33:2-22)

De opera is niet afgelopen...
...tot de dikke dame zingt. (The opra ain't over till the fat lady sings.)
Dit is een bekend Amerikaans gezegde, waarmee bedoeld wordt dat we de hoop niet moeten opgeven.
Toen ik deze woorden in Charles Swindoll’s boek Encourage me (Bemoedig mij) las, besloot ik ze op het Blog te zetten.
Ter bemoediging.
In het bijzonder voor het Beit Avraham team wat zich afvraagd hoe het toch verder moet.
We staan met onze rug tegen omstandigheden die H-E-T- E-I-N-D-E lijken te spellen.
We weten dat de Beit Avraham zal doorgaan, zondermeer, maar het behuizingsprobleem speelt een grote rol in deze voortgang, die op dit moment, hopeloos lijkt.
De boze zou het liefst willen dat we het ergste willen geloven, dat we het bijltje erbij neergooien, dat we ons verslagen voelen en ons blijven afvragen waarom dit zo moet gaan.
Maar toen las ik dat wanneer God erbij betrokken is (en dat weten we voor 100 %) dan kan er VAN ALLES gebeuren.
Met Hem, is ALLES mogelijk.
In Zijn uitvoering, zijn ere en dozijn “dikke dames” die wachten om de finale te zingen.
De opera is nog niet afgelopen.
Prijs God voor mannen zoals Charles Swindoll, voor bemoedigende woorden.

As an encouragement.
Especially for the BA team that is wondering what's going to happen.
We're backed up against a set of circumstances that seem to spell T-H-E- E-N-D.
We know Beit Avraham will continue, somehow, someday, but the housing situation plays a big part in this continuation, and at the moment, it looks hopeless.
The adversary would love for us to assume the worst, wants us to be resigned, feeling defeated and wondering why this is happening.
But then I read, that when God is involved (and we know for 100 % He is), then ANYTHING can happen.
And when He is in it, anything is possible.
In His performance there are dozens of "fat ladies" waiting to sing the finale.
The opra ain't over.
Thank God for men like Charles Swindoll, for words of encouraging.

Welkom op Beit Avraham's Blog!
Shalom, beste vrienden,
hartelijk welkom op deze Nederlandse posting van het BA Blog.
Iedere keer als we een Engels "nieuwtje" schrijven, zullen we proberen deze meteen te vertalen.
Het meest urgente nieuws momenteel is dat de BA direkteur en zijn gezin nog maar 6 dagen de tijd hebben voordat de dead-line van de huisbaas verloopt.
Er zijn kopers voor het huis, en BA zou het dolgraag willen kopen, maar er is geen geld voor.
Dus... zijn we hard aan het bidden voor een "last-minute" wonder. Gebeurd dat niet, dan zal de BA moeten verhuizen. Het is moeilijk voor te stellen, omdat we eigenlijk net weer een beetje op gang kwamen.
Moet de BA "optrekken", dan is er alsnog een wonder nodig, want het is niet eenvoudig om in Jeruzalem een geschikt huis te vinden waar de unieke bediening van de BA door zal kunnen gaan.
Ook hebben de BA direkteur en zijn gezin onze gebeden en bemoedigingen heel hard nodig!

eindelijk hebben we de nieuwsbrieven in PDF formaat kunnen fabriceren, zodat we ze nu ook per e-mail kunnen versturen.

Don't worry - we're still here, although things are rather slow at the moment - it's holiday season.
The BA director and his family, together with the other staff, are praying for an answer to the housing problem, which becomes a rather urgent matter.
The landlord wants to sell the house, but BA doesn't have the money to buy it.
Either a last minute miracle will take place, or BA has to move.
And that poses another problem. Where to find a suitable house to continue this unique ministry that was just starting to warm up again?
We value your prayers, especially for the BA director and his family, for they are in need of your encouragement more than ever.
